The NEW Bacchus Award

Meet Bacchus, the official mascot and troublemaker for

The Twelfth Annual Boston Underground Film Festival: March 25 - April 1, 2010.

For the third consecutive year I’ve had the privilege of designing and sculpting the vivacious and enigmatic character known as Bacchus. This years award is a completely new design an sculpt. He stands about 10” tall including the base, and has a very stimulative vibrating
mojo-motion. He is cast in a poly-resin and hand painted. A total of 5 bubble-gum pink versions of the award were produced and given to some highly deserving film makers at the film festival.

This year also marks the first time BUFF has given away the newly coveted Gold Lifetime Achievement Award. The recipient was none other than the legendary Mink Stole.

The other award recipients are:

Best of Fest – Narrative - Red White & Blue (Simon Rumley)
Best of Fest – Documentary - It Came From Kuchar (Jennifer Kroot)
Best of Fest – Short - Happily Ever After (Jamie Heinrich)
Most Effectively Offensive - The Life and Death of a Porno Gang (Mladen Djordjevic)
Director’s Choice - Someone’s Knocking at the Door (Chad Ferrin)
