At the start of 2010 I was bestowed with the opportunity to design and sculpt the first ever Gort Award for the 35th Annual Boston Sci-Fi Film Festival.

The master sculpt was first formed with a basic alumi-wire understructure and super sculpey. After the initial rough, additional details were added with both super sculpey, willow wax, and pink wax. The base is constructed from a combination of mixed materials including wood, apoxy sculpt, and poly-resin. Each of the raised lettering is hand crafted and place around the dome of the saucer base. The four awards are cast in durable poly-resin and hand painted with a faux bronze finish, making each award unique and one of a kind.
